Poor conversion of tables

I'm using the trial version of Adobe Technical Communication Suite (ready to buy as soon as I work out these kinks). The original Frame files are FrameMaker 7.2 (now converted to 8.0).

I'm importing a FrameMaker .book file (10 chapters 350+ pages) into a new RoboHelp HTML project. The conversion seems fine except in tables. In many (but not all) of the tables, the conversion process is inserting strange <span> code that increases the font size to 12pt. Here are two examples:

CORRECT CONVERSION:
See <a href="#XREF_73880_scanandverify"><span class=FM_Link>scanandverify on page 222</span></a>.

ODD CODE:
See <a href="#XREF_23428_General_settings"><span class=FM_Link style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-weight: normal; font-size: 12.0pt;">General settings on page 209</span></a><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-weight: normal; font-size: 12.0pt;">.</span>

CORRECT CONVERSION:
&lt;<span style="font-style: italic;">search.xml</span>&gt;

ODD CODE:
&lt;<span style="font-style: italic; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-weight: normal; font-size: 12.0pt;">name</span><span style="font-family: 'Times New Roman'; font-weight: normal; font-size: 12.0pt;">&gt;</span>

I've gone over the source document many, many times. I've reapplied the CellBody parragraph. I've applied the Characters > Default Paragraph Font. I've cut the text and then Paste Special > Text. I can't see anything in the source file that would causes the conversion problems above.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Stan

Please check if FrameMaker shows a "*" - as a pointer of the formatting over-ride for the CellBody text.
