Problem styling images

I would like to style some of my images (adding margins, etc.).

Styling in RH11 works fine for text, but when I select the image, the formats drop-down where I select a style becomes grayed out.

Given that you are allowed to apply a class to the <img> tag, this seems arbitrary.

Short of manually editing the HTML, how can I style an image in RH11?

Don't select the image. Just click the line where the image is / will be and apply the style to that line.

Thanks for your thoughtful reply Peter. Problem is I need separate styling for the icon that appear WITHIN a styled paragraph. So That's why I'd like to be able to select the icon and apply the selector to the <img scr="xxx" class="this icon">.

Seems odd that Adobe goes out of its way to prevent this. Is it me?
