Problem with Trial Download

I have downloaded the trial version of RoboHelp 7. After clicking the "I want to try Adobe RoboHelp 7 free for 30 days" radio button and clicking the Next button, I receive the following message: A problem was encountered while trying to load the trial period for Adobe RoboHelp 7.

I successfully downloaded this trial version to my work computer using my Adobe login. Can I use the same login to download the trial to a different computer?

I have rebooted my computer, uninstalled RoboHelp 7, and re-downloaded the trial...and I get the same message. So far...I'm not too impressed with this new version.

Any suggestions?

Thanks Gary. Adobe also confirmed this.

Could you install Word? Might be quicker. Make sure you open Word before you install RH.

I will give it a try...but I'm waiting for Dell to send me the original software I purchased when I bought the laptop. I'll try it when I get them.

With earlier versions you could install without Word being present, although obviously nothing Word related would work.

I wonder if this version can be installed without Word. I'm checking but doubt there will be an answer today.

    Hello Peter -

Yes, can install RH7 without having Word installed (that's how I ran the beta test).

If John's suggestions didn't work, here are a couple more ideas.

    > You must be logged into Windows as Administrator in order to install RH.
    > You should turn OFF any and all anti-virus programs.
    > You MUST disable any BIOS (or software) settings that prevent writing to the Master Boot Record of your hard drive - RH MUST write to the MBR or the install WILL fail.
    > You must have an active connection to the Internet or the installation will fail (just about at the point you reached).

    Regards,

    Yikes!
You are having terrible luck today. By chance are you installing on a Windows 2000 machine? Peter Grainge reports that the trial may not run on Windows 2000 (though the licensed version does).

Also if you are installing on Windows Vista, you might look at this tech note.

If you are installing on Windows XP try this

I am running Windows XP. I do not yet have Word installed on this PC...could that have anything to do with it?
