Problems customizing Responsive HTML5 Layouts

I am attempting to customize a Responsive HTML5 layout based on Theme1_Standard. Once I save it, I can no longer re-open it using the Customize Selected Layout button. I get an error: "...\MasterThemeSchema.xml file has invalid data". This has happened several times (with several attempts to customize a new layout). It also happens with the Theme2_Government layout. I was originally working with an imported project but have since created a brand new help project, and still I get the same error. Any suggestions?

After a lengthy online chat with Adobe Support, I was able to resolve this issue. I was working with my project files on a network. It is recommended that you work with RH 11 project files locally if you can.

The MasterThemeSchema.xml file got corrupted somehow. You will need to restore it to get it working again.

To help you do this, I have created an XSD you can use to validate the XML file: Dropbox - MasterThemeSchema.xsd

You can use any tool that supports XSD validation. It will point out inconsistencies in the XML to quickly pinpoint the problem.

Kind regards,

Willam

Thanks for your response and yes, it appears that RoboHelp is somehow corrupting the MasterThemeSchema.xml any time I go into a layout, customize and save it.

I’ve tried creating several layouts, and when I look at the MasterThemeSchema.xml after customizing and saving, they all finish with the following line:

element value="The background color of the

The file seems to have been truncated part way through this line.

The xml is fine prior to customizing the layout so something must be happening during the customization and save process. I have attempted to edit the MasterThemeSchema.xml manually in Notepad to see if I can repair it. But even if this is successful, I'm not sure how practical this will be as a workaround since the .xml will continue to become corrupted any time I customize my layout.
