Question

published file trims right edge of images

I have multiple images that I want to show 1200px wide. The image shows perfectly in RoboHelp topic page, but no matter how I size them or how I change the attributes, the image gets trimmed on the published page.  I have no padding or margins, no special layout format.

In the attached image, I added a border to show the size the image should be, but it gets cut off.  Regardless of image size size, it trims in the same location on the pictures.

Start with the img tag in the stylesheet. I mentioned max-width in a previous post. Also see if you can see an overflow property.

If you can't see anything obvious in the editor, perhaps switch to code view and search for img and see what styles you can find there - theoretically if this is a new project you won't find anything different but an old project might have anything in the stylesheet. 🙂

After that, if you can't find anything post the full version of RH you're using, including patch number. Which output you're generating. Which skin. And if you're using thumbnails or anything like that. I can take a look to see if I can reproduce with that information.

Okay if the text continues right to the edge of the page, that suggests some setting on the img tag. Have you checked that in your stylesheet?

As I mentioned in my initial post, I have tried adjusting the size of the image changes size appropriately, but the right side continues to be trimmed in the same location.  If you know which stylesheet or properties setting would cause it to trim, I will give it a try.

If you enter some very long text, does the text stretch all the way to where your border is? Maybe there is a fixed width for the content area, for example. Or maybe you have a max-width set on the img tag?

Also, please use the Insert Photo icon to insert images as it's easier to help when the image is inline with the text.

Yes, the text extends beyond the image and even adds a scroll bar at the bottom to see where it extends. It does not limit the width to 1200 and wrap the text.
