Purpose of .hhp? Does source control need to track it?
I understand what the hhp file is inside of an html help system and that it's a necessary file when building a .chm file, but what is it's purpose with RH exactly? Is it a temporary file? Is it regenerated from some other file if it's deleted? I'm assuming at some point it is needed to build my chm output file.
The reason I'm asking is that this file is causing problems in our source control system (we're using mercurial), and I'm wondering if this file really needs to be tracked? From what I've read, it looks like the .hhp file should not need to be tracked by a source control system. Is this correct? If I update to a different branch of source code (thereby updating my documentation to new files) will my project be in jeopardy of not being able to build or losing vital information if it's not tracked?
Thanks for whatever info you can provide.
