Question

Reason for not being able to add txt files to project?

Hello,

Random question, does anyone know why we cannot add txt files to a project?  They appear greyed out in the file upload dialog box.  I can add them manually using the mac finder window so that is my workaround but i found it odd that I can't from the UI.

This must be a MAC thing, works in Windows. Curious as to why you want text files.

I think you will have to try Support. See https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/enterprise-support.other.html#robohelp for your Adobe Support options. The email link tcssup@adobe.com is recommended as it reaches a team dedicated to Technical Communication Suite products including RoboHelp.

I can make a ticket.  thank you.  Its not a big deal as I can upload the files on the backend but just found it odd.  We have a few videos posted on our web output.  One of our requirements is to provide a txt transcript for videos for the visual and/or hearing impaired in addition to closed captions.

Have you tried updating to Patch 8? That might already be fixed...

You haven't said which version of RoboHelp you are using but the Import dialog has a File option. That open a dialog where you can change the file types. I selected All Files and the file imported.

That is on a Windows machine but it should be the same for a Mac.
