RH 2017 - Strange search behavior not searching Release Notes

I have a responsive html5 output, works perfectly as expected. Even the search works on both Chrome and IE.

Today I just added a small not in a table that says, To download the Release Notes click here and linked click here to a PDF that resides in a folder in the project.

The download also works fine.

Now, if I search for the keywords Release Notes, it says results not found. If I search the word download, it searches and displays the results with a yellow highlight...very strange. Why whould it not search the term Release Notes?

In Project Settings click Advanced next to the Language field. Delete Not.

My predecessor deleted the entire stopword list as it created more problems here than it solved. 🙂

Have you tried other two word searches to see if they work in the same way?

Yes, other 2 or more words search works without double quotes. Wonder whati s wrong with Release Notes :). Is it a blocked term somewhere in the project?

Ah with double quotes, it worked. Searched perfectly. Now is that a normal behavior? Why only with these terms? user wouldnt use double quotes he will direcctly type release notes.

The search result showing Download is for the new download rather than something that was already in the project.

Add a made up word like redgiraffe to the same topic.

Indeed a mystery...it searched for my made up work whitetiger, it searched for release, it searched for notes, it searched for download..but does not search for release notes when entered together. When the terms release and notes are entered separately it searches.

The PDF file linked is named as Release Notes.pdf. That should not be a problem though.

Any idea about this weird behavior?
