RH2017 - Printed output of merged project possible?

We have a merged parent project with 2 child projects within it.

The responsive html5 output works as expected.

However, when we try to take a printed documentation output of the parent project (hoping it will output both the child projects in the PDF/Doc) it looks ilke it is not doable.

Any tips on how to get this?

Merged help is for online outputs only.

The only workaround is to create a document from each project and then combine them in Word. Note though that any cross project links will be broken.
