RH2019 Classic chm viewer (hhlauncher.exe) launched after output , but doesn't show up

with a certain project, after finishing an edit, I 'save and generate', and ask for 'view result' . the output is a chm file. Nothing shows up.

I start over and the error appears : project.chm is open in other application.

ALT tab doesn't show a microsoft html help window. the task manager neither.

other projects on the same pc, with the same adobe robohelp launch succesfully.

hhlauncher is in the tasklist...

What's wrong here?

Time to take a copy of it & start tossing topics and compiling until you isolate the "bad" one.

I suspect something is wrong with the projectfile. at the bottom of the output view I got this mention:

Fatal Error: Unexpected error from Microsoft HTML compiler.

So, it launches but get stuck

As I don't have this with other projects, it must be something in this pecular project. Question is what...

Hello Jeff, it is not really a solution, but I did indeed recompiled the project, leaving out ONE html topic at the time and repeat untill all where compiled. Finally found the culprit. A pity the compiler doesn't report this problem. What a waste of time...
