RH2020 - Not able to generate an ouput for just one topic

Hello everyone!

I have just recently upgraded from RH 2109 Classic to RH 2020, and I have been having a pressing issue. On RH 2019 Classic, using a Word Output Preset, I was able to generate a Word document for just one topic that was inside a specific TOC, on the Chapter Layout section. However, in RH 2020, I'm not able to find anysuch option. I was wondering if this feature was disabled...

Can anyone please help me clarify this?

The ability in Classic to just select one topic while stepping through the Generate wizard was super handy sometimes. 🙂

However, even in Classic I ended up setting up a separate TOC and output preset for reviews or release notes or whatever, as I found I would forget to modify that step in the wizard and have to repeat the build more than I would have liked. The reviews toc and preset was super handy as any once-off requests were really quick - delete the current topics in the toc and drag the required ones in, change the output file name if required and generate without having to think about anything else.

RoboHelp 2020 also has a Word output (preset). What gets generated depends on the TOC that you select in that preset.

I think what is confusing you is the change in the output (in Classic) and the preset as it is now known. In 2020 you define what gets printed in the TOC you use, as above.

How to set up the TOC is described here. RH2020 The Table of Contents (grainge.org)

Your subscription entitles you to upgrade to RoboHelp 2022. Things have changed again so you might as well go straight to how it works now. There are equivalent topics for that version if you follow the links above. 2022 can be downloaded from Download RoboHelp and RoboHelp Server (adobe.com).
