RH2022 merged frameless menu. Followed procedures as designated, but don't want tile menu

Hello by principle, the main project has no content. That is explicitely described. you fetch content via the imported TOCs.

I want index.html to point directly to a page of the 'welcome' project. Because a topic page has no tiled menu.

So I indicate in welcome project the welcome page as default topic

and in the main project

I can only choose rhpj files, there are no local ones.

After generating both projects, 

I view the childproject (with a tiled menu, because of the designated template)

I view the parent project and get an error. The browser tries to open the projectfile welkom01.rhpj and shows 'Your file couldn’t be accessed' (of course. you can't show this format in the browser)

I tried importing that welcome page in the mainproject and designate it as default page,  but I loose the toc in that case. Wondering how I can solve this....

    The parent project template is what applies. Every child could have a different template but it will get overridden.

     

    In the parent, is this checkbox clear as shown here.

    EDIT

    This should be deselected in all the projects as it is in the presets, not the templates.

      Are you following Peter's merged help instructions? I suspect you're not doing something correctly if you're putting in a "source" RH project file in that field. I would have thought you would be selecting/entering an "output" type of file.

      Hello Jeff. Yes I am. as the main project is an empty shell, you can only choose projectfiles as default topic. If I would be happy with a tile menu, I would have no troubles. But I have more than 30 subprojects. That's not responsible for a tile menu solution. In the topic the menu is displayed with another style

      ok. error is gone. used the wrong frameless preset. had to make a second one especially for mergedprojects. But I'm still stuck with the tile menu
