RH6: Issue: Text Overtype Instead of Text Insert

I am using RH6. I placed my cursor in the middle of a paragraph. I expected to insert text there (that is, I expected new text to appear at my cursor while preserving existing text). Instead, I was overtyping existing text (that is, as I typed, existing text was overwritten by new text). I searched RH6 Help and the Adobe site for "overtype" and "overstrike" but found nothing. Any ideas?

Megcb39 - At first I looked at your post and thought to myself that I really did not remember that answer. Then I saw it was twelve years ago and had to grin from ear to ear. Thanks for the chuckle.
