Right Panel Frameless Mini TOC is throwing 404 upon updating to Adobe Robohelp 2026.01.11 version. Anyone else?

Frameless Right panel Mini TOC is working in projects that I haven’t migrated yet to the new version, but every single plan including the About RoboHelp Sample project that I have published on our server are throwing the 404 not found error.

Opened a TCS Support ticket. Met with Amit.  Reverting to 2022.6.34 did correct the mini TOC issue.  Amit took down some of our server version information and is taking this back as a potential 2026 bug for anyone else experiencing this issue.

    IMPORTANT

The posted fix for the issue will only work in an output view locally if the issue is seen there. It will not fix the issue in an output published to a server.

Adobe are working on that as a matter of urgency. Follow the forums for an update.

Customers who are facing incorrect or broken MiniTOC links can fix it by replacing two script files in their Frameless output and then publishing again.
    Steps:

    1. Generate your Frameless preset output as you normally do.
    2. Download the fixed files (attached): topicpage.js and topicpage.js.gz
    3. Open the scripts folder in your Frameless output:
      1. Windows: C:\Documents\My RoboHelp Projects\outputs\<project_name>\<frameless_preset_output_name>\template\scripts
      2. Mac: Documents/My RoboHelp Projects/outputs/<project_name>/<frameless_preset_output_name>/template/scripts
      3. Example (project "About RoboHelp", preset "Frameless")
        • Windows:  C:\Documents\My RoboHelp Projects\outputs\About RoboHelp\Frameless\template\scripts
        • Mac:  Documents/My RoboHelp Projects/outputs/About RoboHelp/Frameless/template/scripts
      4. Replace the existing topicpage.js and topicpage.js.gz in that folder with the downloaded (fixed) versions.
      5. Publish to your server from this updated output folder.

After these steps, MiniTOC links will use the correct full URLs and work when clicked and when the URL is copied and opened in a new browser tab. If the issue persists, clear your browser cache and try again.

Replaced the files attached within my project before republishing.  Issue was not resolved.  Still throwing 404 error.  Also caused some formatting issues on my page as well.  Pages without the mini TOC display within the window while my contacts page with the mini TOC is pushed to the right with a scroll bar. It is also taking on the title of my other project in the header and variables are repeating several times.  I’ve attached screen shots of all.

I’m confused as you posted earlier that Adobe Support had fixed the issue. Go back to Amit as I have since pointed him to the solution posted here for 2026.01. I’m sure he will assist you further.

Thanks Peter, I’ll check out your site.  In the mean time, the mini TOC is working locally. I did some comparison and it seems like the mini TOC is completely skipping the Context and help area when generating the links.  It’s just taking part of the server name and jumping right to the project name for some reason. There is nothing that we have changed with our publishing information etc.

    Example:

     WORKING: https:xxxxx/standard/standard/server/general/projects_frameless/project name/book/topic.htm?area=general&type=frameless&project=project name

      NOT WORKING: https:xxxxx/project name/Book/Topic.htm?area=general&type=frameless&project=project name#xxxxr_

Unchanged Robohelp Server Output: https://xxxx/standard/server, area is set up as general.

If checking your settings does not find anything, I suggest you go to Adobe Support. I may be wrong but this and another post have a hint of a break in the update.

See https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/enterprise-support.other.html#robohelp for your Adobe Support options. The email link tcssup@adobe.com is recommended as it reaches a team dedicated to Technical Communication Suite products including RoboHelp.
