RoboHelp 2015: WebHelp: Publishing to govt agency site

I'm a tech writer who is meeting with govt agency s/w developers to figure out the best way to upload WebHelp to an online only govt agency site software application.

  • What do I need to provide them from my end so they can upload WebHelp to the system?
  • What do they need to know from their end about how to upload WebHelp?

Thanks,

HelpAngel

Have you used RH before? If not, you're going to generate the help output in a \!SSL!\type_of_output\ folder & then provide that entire folder's contents to them. This can be streamlined by directly generating & publishing (via an FTP client built into RH) to the site. If you go that route, you'd need the location, username and password required to FTP content up to that location.

Being a government agency, they may not allow you to upload but when they see the number of files that are needed, they might question whether they are all required. The stock answer is "only if you want the help to work".
