RoboHelp 8 Adv Features

Question

Hi we have about 6 different environments in which Robo Help server 4 is running as 6 different instances. We are now considering to consolidate them to 3 but would not want to sacficie on the way we support these 6 environments.

My question is would RoboHelp Server 8 be installed in one Physical box and have different sets of code being catered to different environments without having to face any issues ? For eg. please check out the diagram attached here.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, Ravi.I am not an expert at network admin but from what you describe, this seems like something that the new Adobe RoboHelp Server 8 is able to do. This is because unlike the old RoboEngine 4 (over 7 years old), the new server is based on Java and the open-source Tomcat Server which is much more flexible.You can read much more in the online help at this linkhttp://help.adobe.com/en_US/RoboHelp/8.0/RoboHelpServer/WS5b3ccc516d4fbf351e63e3d11c0aaa9fd7-7fed.htmlIt can be installed on one physical box and many instances and what the new server calls "contexts" can be created.Here is a short snippet from the online help topic:"Using RoboHelp Server 8, you can host different Help systems by creating multiple contexts in Tomcat. You can configure different instances of RoboHelp Server (with single installation) to run on each of these contexts. These contexts run on the same IP address and port number but different context names. This feature is supported on all the supported operating systems."Let me know if this covers your question.
