Robohelp fails to import FrameMaker documents/books

Last week I successfully imported a FrameMaker book into a RoboHelp project using the "Create new project from FrameMaker Book" option.

Today I attempted to convert another FrameMaker project using the same method, but after 5 minutes or so, it resulted in the error: "Failed to import FrameMaker Document. If this problem continues, contact technical support."

I attempted to import the book then using the File > Import > FrameMaker Document and selecting Book. Same result.

I attempted to import just a single document from the FrameMaker book in this way, and again the same result.

What can I try next?

My solution to this error may not help you, but here it is:

I ran RoboHelp as an administrator (under Windows 7).

That was it. Made the problem go away for me. I guess I had forgotten that I was a requirement for my setup.

It worked for me also. Run the Robohelp as administrator.

Any errors that you haven’t resolved in the FM book? Have the locations of the files changed? What happens if you try a new blank project, then import?

Hi Jeff,

I opened the documents it seemed to fail on and there were no unresolved cross references or any other errors that I saw.

If I open a new RH project and import I have the same results.

So what’s changed since the last time you did this?
