Hi,

I wanted to know if Robohelp 14 supports spliting the Masterpage into columns, like having a vertical side bar along with the main body content.

Kindly repsond, much needed help.

Thanks and Regards,

Kavya Sharma

Columns are New UI only as you have seen. Also content in columns flows so you can't control what goes in which column. Column 1 fills, then column 2 and so on. For your requirement a table is better. That will work in the new versions as well.

This should help and it confirms that it will not work in PDF and Word.

RoboHelp 2019 had two flavours, Classic and New UI. Only the New UI supports columns but I haven't tried it as a masterpage and can't try it right now.

The easiest thing is to simply set up a new project and try it. How is described in RoboHelp Reimagined sample project.

Bear in mind it will almost certainly only work in topics if attached to topics when they are created.

Also remember to test PDF and Word outputs as well as I'm dubious they will support columns.

    Please let us know.

BTW. It's easier if you use the common name, RoboHelp 2019 in this instance and specify Classic or New UI, for that part there are tags when you create posts. Thanks.

    Thanks for responding, Peter.

I am using Classic 2019 and as a workaround I have inserted a table in the masterpage having two columns to meet our side bar need.

Wanted to know if we have a predefined functionality in the Robohelp Classic for the same.

    Thanks and Regards,
