I am using RoboHelp for Word and attempting to insert a non-scrolling region in a topic from the RoboHelp menu, but there are no selections under RoboHelp in the menu bar. I have attached the RoboHelp.dot template and restarted mu computer, and have selections under every other munu heading but RoboHelp.

It's Magic...That's the only way I can explain it. While playing with a test project and a RoboHelp.dot that had the RoboHelp Menu with only 2 items (broke), I was making style changes and saving them in the RH.dot. The RH Menu remained "broke". I did this 4 times with the same results.

I went to the Tools->Templates and Add-Ins, open the Organizer, and in the left-hand combo box (Styles available in) selected the RoboHelp.dot . I made no changes, just looked at the styles in RoboHelp.dot, then closed the Organizer.

When I selected the RH Menu, it was full, normal, fixed. I have done further template changes and saves and the RH Menu is still OK. I do not know what broke the Menu nor what repaired it. I don't think am crazy...yet, I asked Peter Grainge to look at this problem and he had similiar results. He actually broke the Menu and while trying things, the Menu was miraculously fixed and will not break again.

Captain,
Are you still having problms with the RoboHelp menu items? New "light bulb": You can rebuild the dropdown menu items using "Tools-> Customize". The menu items are Macros that can be added as dropdown menu items using "Drag & Drop". I was able to do this and actually save RoboHelp.dot...years of fustration will be no more. It's really easy and you can use Word help or let me know and I can do a step by step procedure for you.

Captain,
I have tried to reply to your post twice before this and it does not seem to have worked. I have been dealing with this for several years. The menu items under the RoboHelp dropdown menu are reduced to 4 items everytime I save the RoboHelp.dot. I think this started after the company upgraded beyond Word'97. I have a backup copy of the template and when I accidently save it, I just replace it with the backup copy. This is such an old problem, the forum has probably found a better solution. This should work until we hear of a better one. Until then, also answer "NO" if RoboHelp prompts you to save the document template.
