Robohelp & SharePoint
Hi,
I work on a team with 5 other Instructional Designers that are spread across the country. So we work on remote desktops. We're currently building a help system for a proprietary program and we've run into the issue of where to house the RH project files so that we can all access them. I know RH was not meant to work on a network drive, but working on a joint C drive is out of the question. As a work-a-round we thought about placing the project files on SharePoint and when you check the file out to edit it, it would save to the local C drive (so RH would be working off the C Drive) and then when done editing, check it back into SharePoint and it would be updated that way. And everyone on the team would have access.
However, I'm running into an error when I try to open the RH file to edit it from SharePoint. I keep getting this error "The path (insert SharePoint file path) is too long and will be deleted from the project". Then RH freezes and the "RH has encountered a problem and must close" popup opens and closes RH. Has anyone had success with housing their RH project files on SharePoint so that multiple people can access and make updates to it? Or if not on SharePoint, how have you handled this?
Thanks,
Jessica
