How do I prevent roboscreencapture from adding a pink hue to my screen shots when saving as .gif? I have tried to change the color resolution to 24 bits which makes the images look good but as I hit the Save button, it reverts the resolution back to 8 bits and the image comes out with that pink hue. In the Save As window, the Keep Current check box is checked...

Any ideas?

I'm unaware of any way to force or coax RSC to save the GIF using different colors. It's my understanding that the GIF format only understands 255 or 256 colors. So likely what is happening is that the GIF you are getting has that "sheen" because of the colors used and the process of reducing to that number.

Does the format absolutely HAVE to be GIF? I've been using PNG for the last several years with no issue.

The format doesn't have to be GIF but it would be nice to figure out a way to stop this... The only reason I would like to use GIF is because I already have hundreds of GIF screen shots that need to be refreshed due to modifications.

Ahhh, gotcha on the existing screen captures. Makes perfect sense.

I'm guessing that you are on a newer computer now and capturing the same screens is working at a deeper color depth.

One thought I had was that you could try capturing with fewer colors. I found an article that talks about using "compatibility mode" to configure a shallower color depth. Maybe it will help?
