Question

RoboSource and AccuRev SCM

We're using AccuRev for our source code control system, and RoboHelp to generate help files. Our RH files are currently not managed in any CM system. I'm looking at puting our RH files into AccuRev.

Is anyone using AccuRev with RoboHelp via the SCC integration? Can you relate your experiences?

Thanks,

Marilyn

We are using AccuRev at work and I can say it has been a royal pain. Their documentation is inscrutable. Luckily, we have a fantastic Configuration Management guy here who answers all our questions.

I know enough about it to get me in trouble. As far as I know, you do nothing to set up RBH per se. Your CM person (I presume) sets up a local folder (mine is called "Projects") for your files that will go into AccuRev. This is the folder to which you generate all your projects. Keep in mind, I am working with an ancient version, RBH X5. But the process should be the same. After you generate your files there, you 'promote' them into the work stream.

There is much more to it, but that is the crux of it. Your CM person should be able to help you.
