RH 2022

Is there a way to make the search box open by default on the topic pages and not collapsed having to click the magnifying icon?

Thanks!

 Lori

If Adobe have struggled with it, I wish you luck. 🙂

Well, this was me giving them a little push in a direction that my common sense tells me wouldn't be a horrible thing to try.  It'll be months before I can even try to do it.  I take it that here has not been any progress on this, though? It's a pain to have to go and click that icon each time.  It really really is.

I liaised with Adobe to see if they could create a script to help here. They tried but it proved more complex than expected. They have asked that if you still want this solution that you post a feature request. I gave you the link so please try that.

I see this is from 2023, but I was looking at this yesterday because I'm not a fan of having to click on the search icon to get the seach box on the Topic Page.  Have there been any developments on this since this post was created back in 2023?  Why couldn't we use the same thing they used on the home page for the topic page?  To me it sounds good in theory but I haven't tried anything yet bc of time, but why wouldn't that work?  I'm not exactly sure where to begin, but I'd start with the Inspector and go from there.  Or we could simply put the search bar widget in the Topic Layout.  I tried that, but had trouble positioning it where I wanted and just haven't come back to it yet.

Hold off posting a feature request for a while. I am having a dialog with the developers to see what can be done.

Do a search first. I feel like several people have requested the same thing on the forum so there might already be a ticket you can vote on.

Not that I am aware of. It might be possible via some sort of script but that's way beyond me.

Perhaps submit a feature request? Please follow this link to report bugs or request new features. https://tracker.adobe.com. Post the link to your bug report / feature request in this thread and others can vote for it. The more people who do so, the higher it gets prioritised.
