Search displaying duplicate topics

Help - when I search in my chm, nearly all topics are listed twice. For each pair, one link goes to the topic and the other goes to the 'This page cannot be displayed' standard internet message.

This project has been left alone for about 2yrs and I am now using RoboHelp HTML X3. I think it was written in an earlier version but has been fine in every other way.

Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this?

I have now discovered that the problem goes away if I compile into a location other than the project folder. Still don't understand why but at least it is a good workaround.
