Search initiates before completing search term

Has anyone seen this issue I'm having where you start to type in a search term and the webhelp initiates the search before you're done typing and also adds a space? For example, if I start typing "anonymous" into the search, I get to about "anon" and then the search starts and a space is added at the end so now the search field shows "anon ". Also, when this happens if you don't let it finish searching before you hit backspace and try to finish typing the word, I get the "Failed to load XML" error and you have to refresh the browser to proceed.

NOTE: This only happens in IE and Firefox. Chrome functions perfectly.

I'm on RH10.
