Search is not working in CHM

I use Robohelp 2020 to create CHM. The security recently ran a scan on my machine and removed  html workshop from machine, as a consequence, the search in the chm is not working anymore for the newly generated help files.

Is there a work around to getting the search feature to work without HTML help workshop? Why do we still need HTML help workshop when micrsoft does not support it anymore?

Microsoft might not support it any more but that doesn't mean it is not needed. Adobe still supports this dated format but like all authoring tools that do, the Microsoft compiler is still needed.

I may be wrong so wait for others to contradict me here. Otherwise I believe you can only download it from here Wayback Machine (archive.org) and I suspect your security people will have big issues with that.

If you want to continue with CHMs, you need to resolve this with your security people.

"Why do we still need CHMs when Microsoft does not support it anymore?" is the REAL question you should be asking.
