This is random because I have others that I have developed and generated identically the same way/structure and they are ok...

I'm experiencing a similar thing. We are only targeting desktop output using IE.

I think this could also be caused by caching issues on the server. Maybe. Clearing cookies from my browser got the search working again, but this isn't something we can get our users to do on a regular basis.

I'm still looking in to this though. The previous tech writer had issues with content and TOC not updating, so I'm going to investigate the solution suggested for that, as I'm not sure that solution was implemented correctly.

I'll report back if I discover anything useful. Or, if anyone has any further information, feel free to post.

Just a noteworthy opinion from a long-time RH user:

IE continues to have many issues across many web technologies not exclusive to RH - ditch the browser for now if you can... I cant even get JQuery mobile apps to run right using IE. I prefer Chrome and firefox - they are much more reliable as we progress into the HTML5 world.

The search issue as well as many problems in multi-screen were corrected when using Robohelp 11 Responsive layout -- a huge improvement from Adobe! I have included videos, drop down menus, searchable pdfs, etc, and they work on all devices - even blackberrys. The final output is much smaller than multiscreen because you don't need to populate a new layout/folder for every device and size.

Unfortunately we're in a locked down environment and IE is it (this is the first time I've really used IE in about 15yrs. )

In order to get some idea of what is going on, here are some questions:

Which layouts are you creating?

What is not showing? Is the entire search bar missing, or is something

not working?

Is this a problem of specific layout or of all the layouts?

Is this a problem of specific SSL's or only of specific SSL's?

Kind regards,

Willam

in preview the search is fully functional -- but when I published to a web server... I tried typing in a key word and no results show... this happens in all the customized mobile outputs of my latest project (ipad, iphone, android, etc)... but my other projects work fine.

After extensive troubleshooting I think I have solved the issue more or less... When I use the chrome app browser in my up-to-date ios software, search works fine on apple devices. I found that Safari for ios and IE for desktop is browser restrictive/sensitive.....Adobe/Microsoft/Apple need to get on the same page if these technologies are going to thrive.
