Skip to Main Content Link gives Forbidden error

I generate help using the Studio Frameless Skin as my starting point using RoboHelp 2022.  For some reason, the Skin to Main Content link produces a Forbidden error when selected from the server.  The link works correctly on my local computer.  Any ideas on how to fix this?

I generated an output using Studio. I see no such link. In the settings, there is no URL so as you say, RoboHelp determines what it does.

Where does it take your users and is there some other setting I need to apply to see that link?

You said earlier It should just take the user to the content on the page when selected. They are on a page so this skips past the heading and takes them to the start of the text on that page?

I think ADA is something to do with disabiities in the USA, not something I am familiar with.

The only way to find it is to tab or use shift tab until it shows up.  If I have my cursor in the Search field at the top of the online help window and then I choose Shift Tab, the cursor moves to the logo in the upper left corner and then I choose shift tab again and then it will transition to the Skip to Main Content link, which is only shown when you are tabbing through the items in the online help window.  We have the same default settings as the Studio output, so this should work after you generate.

When the link is clicked it skips the header area and heading and takes the user directly to the content.  Yes, ADA is for users with disabilities so they can easily navigate in the system.

So it just takes the user down a few lines after they have clicked an obscure key combo! Are you able to ascertain if anyone knows how to access it?

I'm finding the same as you on a linux server. See https://www.grainge.org/demos/showmain

I will take that down later so please check asap.

I suggest for this one you need to go to Adobe Support. See https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/enterprise-support.other.html#robohelp for your Adobe Support options. The email link tcssup@adobe.com is recommended as it reaches a team dedicated to Technical Communication Suite products including RoboHelp.

In a single project the icon top left takes a user to the default topic. In a merge it doesn't. There's a fix on my site. I suspect this is similar. Try testing that.

What point version of RH2022 are you running? This is a Merged Help project, correct?

I am running 2022.4.179.  I know there is another update available, but the last update I took broke the Mini TOC and I had to manually update files into the installer folder to revert the code to the previous code, so I am hesitant to take another patch right now.  Unless, I'm told this update will fix the issue.

Not sure about that - but always good to know the version of RH. Was this an older project upgraded to RH2022? Was the Preset new in this version or was it upgraded too?

Without a full width image I think you mean a link that appears top right that should only appear with Responsive templates. Its purpose is to open the help with the TOC, in responsive templates it is possible to open the topic only.

Studio is frameless so to the best of my knowledge, you shouldn't see that link unless it is something you have created.

Sorry but from you have described and shown,  I can't see enough to give a better answer.

    Is the help accessible publicly?

It is here in the RoboHelp Skin:

RoboHelp generates the link automatically.  It pulls in the path correctly, but does not append the help file name when the link is clicked from the server.  I have not touched the code.  It is auto generated by this property.  The only way to get to the link once generated is to tab and it will show up in the generated help.  When I look at the generated code I see this:

    <a class="RH-LAYOUT-HEADER-skip-content-link" title="Skip To Main Content" href="#rh-topic">Skip To Main Content</a>

To put it beyond doubt, please add a screenshot of the link that is failing.

It is the Skip to Main Content link that gets generated in the top area of the online help by RoboHelp.  It should just take the user to the content on the page when selected.  It is generated for ADA purposes by RoboHelp.

In the following image, the top image shows how the Skip to Main Content link does not append the help file name to the path when the link is clicked, when accessed from the server.  The Forbidden error is given when the link is clicked.  The bottom image (my local PC) shows how the help file name is appended to the path when the link is clicked.

Was this working before? Did all the files get copied up to the webserver? Since it's a Linux box, did the case flag get selected in the Preset?

Sounds like a permissions issue on the webserver. Was this working before in this location & not now OR has it never worked? Anything unusual about the webserver? SharePoint, Linux, Apache, etc?

The online help is on a Linux server.  Help container is docker image which gets deployed on kubernetes or AKS cluster and the cluster is running on a Linux server.  I'm trying to see if we have any environment or any client not using Linux.
