Question

Specifying the target of skip content link?

Greetings,

I'm using RoboHelp 2022.1.888 and the Oceanic skin's Topic Page > Header > Skip Content options.

When activated, the Skip Content link appears to jump to the first use of Header 1. Is that the expected behavior, and is there a way to specify a different target for the Skip Content link?

    I'm a little confused about how changing the logo width and height affects the Skip to Content link?

    I'm sorry about that; I meant to post the last reply above into the thread "Distortion of logo - frameless output." I just posted the content into the correct thread: https://community.adobe.com/t5/robohelp-discussions/distortion-of-logo-frameless-output/m-p/13817081#M149848

    Will investigate options for the skip to content link.

    I've checked the RH2022 output and the link jumps to a bookmark that is set by RH on the topic container div.

    You'd need to look at some sort of custom solution I think, or some sort of fancy javascript, maybe. You may also want to check with accessibility people whether the proposed solution would meet accessibility standards as well.

    Thanks, @Amebr ,

    The designer on our team was able to review the files and recommended editing the layout.css in the output (template > Oceanic > 2019 > layout.css) by removing the width and height specifications in the layout header for the mobile view (noted below). Removing the width and height worked. Even though I wasn't generating mobile output (it's frameless output), the width and height noted below were affecting a minimized screen size.

    I'm not sure that there's a way to remove the height and width values through the RH interface unfortunately. I'm going to check into this in the next few days.

    .RH-LAYOUT-BODY-mobile-view .RH-LAYOUT-HEADER-logo {

     width: 2.5rem;

      height: 2.5rem;

      border: none;

      background-size: 100% 100%;

      background-repeat: no-repeat;

      background-position: center;

      padding: 0;

      cursor: pointer;

      margin-right: 1rem;

    }

    I believe the link is intended to skip any navigation content and jump to the start of the actual topic content. This is typically a H1 on web pages. I don't have access to check right now, but I suspet there's no way to change this.

    What's the specific problem you're encountering with the behaviour? Perhaps we can think of an alternative?

    Thank you @Amebr ,

    The issue is that I'd like the Skip to Main Content feature to go to a start point farther down the page, past the first H1. I suppose using bookmarks would work; I'll plan to look into that.
