Style document disappeared

I have a situation where my styles (default.css) document disapeared. I manual put a copy back into the asset/css folder. However, it still will not load when I use RoboHelp 2020 (v 2022.02.22). The styles menu is empty. Whne I click the + in the styles menu it does not do anything either. This happened at the same time the file names all changed to the document names, which I was able to fix. Does anyone have an idea on how I can fix this?

@S4mm1ch35 Did you resolve this? If you did, it might help others to post what caused the problem.

In your Assets File.jpg you show a small snippet of the Explorer window, but not the full path to the file you are showing.

If that path is very long and includes "Program Files", as you stated in your post, you have copied the css file to the wrong location. In this case, you will need to copy the css into tthe assets/css folder inside your project.

If the mention of the Program Files folder was a typo, and the file is definitely in the correct folder, then I'm afraid I can't offer any other suggestions.

Double click the CSS. Do you then see the styles as shown or does it open in source view?

You haven't said what happens if you open the CSS in the CSS editor.

Also open the About RoboHelp sample project. Does it work there.

Please use the photo icon to insert images within the post. Seeing an image inline with the text makes it easier for anyone answering or viewing the post. At the moment it is necessary to open each image one at a time and remember what is in each.

The images show the CSS file is in the project's assets/css folder where it should be. I am not understanding how you think it is in Program Files.

Go to the assets/css folder and right click the CSS file to open it in the editor. Do the styles show there?

Also try deleting the css from the Topic Properties and then reapplying it.

Sorry about the error in how the images were attached. I did not realize there were two ways to do it.

I took your advice and tried to delete the css from the Topic Properties then reapply. This did not correct the problem.

The CSS styles are not viewable in RoboHelp on the right hand side like the usually are. when a Topic is open.

The styles are not being applied to the Topic eventhough there is one attached in the properties. When I Generate a new file the sytles do not apply then either.

What version are you using? RH2020 or RH2024 RH2022? (dealing too much with my own software which is version 2024).

I can see where I left some gaps in my situation. The default.css is in my program folder on the drive (see image), it appears in the topic properties (see image), However, it does not apper in the style pod when I click on the right tool bar (see image).  It happened at the same time the topics in the contents changed from the Title to the File Name. I was able to fix that problem by opening every page and saving the page again, but the default.css wont come back.

Empty where? When you open the CSS or when you click on the Styles pod in the right toolbar?

If the latter, open a topic and check the CSS is selected in the General Properties.
