Table of Contents does not display in responsive html5 output

I am having issues with RoboHelp 2020 where any time I generate a responsive html 5, the table of contents is not viewable after clicking the html link in the output folder. I have tried auto-creating a new TOC after making changes to the contents and have verified the Table of Contents drop down menu shows the correct TOC when editing the responsive html5 layout. Again, no output is viewable when clickin the html link in the folder the project outputs to.

Same drive is correct but it must be a folder not inside the project.

In the preset there is a field for the output path. Is that where you are looking? Below that field is the name of the start page, by default it is index.htm. That is the file that opens the output with the TOC.

When you generate there is a small dialog showing the progress of the generation. When that shows it has completed, click the eye icon next to the one you clicked to start the generation.

I am assuming you generate from Output panel rather than using Quick Generate.

The default start page is default.htm for me. Yes, I am using the output panel. When I click the eye icon after generating a responsive html5, it only shows a single page.

Are you generating to the same drive as the project?
Is the TOC selected in the preset. Maybe that wasn't updated after creating the new TOC?
You refer to the html link in the output folder. Do you mean the index.htm file? If not, what are you clicking?

1. Anytime I try to generate to the same drive as the project, nothing appears in the output folder.

2. The TOC is selected in the preset.

3. I am referring to the companyproductname.html file.

Also your first experience of RoboHelp? I ask as if it is, then I would suggest using the frameless outputs as that is where future development will take place. Maybe you are committed to responsive.

Either way take a look at RH2020 Outputs General (grainge.org) on my site and then click the link to the appropriate output. Check you are setting up the preset properly. My guess is you haven't set an output path in which case the output goes to Documents>MyRoboHelpProjects>Outputs.

Come back if that doesn't help.

I have been using Robohelp for a few months. An ongoing company project has recently broke where the TOC no longer displays in the html5 output. It used to output correctly a few months ago, but now that no longer is the case. I can't figure out what changed for that to broke the TOC output. We are committed to responsive html5.

When you say "Whenever I open that file nothing appears in the content file or anywhere else" the sample projects do not have outputs generated, you have to generate them.

Have you previously generated a good output or is this your first experience of 2020?

I have not previously generated a good output. This is my first experience of 2020.

In the preset you define the name of the Start Page and the Default Topic. Check both are not named index.htm. If they are then you could be opening the wrong one.

Try again after updating to RH2020.6 - there are 2 sample projects that you should be able to access in your Documents\My RoboHelp Projects\ folder (or copy them from the "factory" location in c:\program files etc.

What version of RH2020? Does it work if you generate with the sample project?

I am using version 2020.4.173. I am actually unsure what the sample project is, but based on this thread https://community.adobe.com/t5/robohelp-discussions/robohelp-2020-sample-project-where-is-it/m-p/11560277 it's the compass travel project. Whenever I open that file nothing appears in the content file or anywhere else.
