Table of Contents not updating to match page in context

We use Adobe RoboHelp 2020, and I recently updated and redeployed the Helpfile (.chm), including changes to the ToC, various content page changes, and an update to the MAP IDs for context sensitive help. The new file content and context sensitive mapping works correctly, the ToC reflects the new pages etc, however, when a user opens a help file page either via a context sensitive link, or via the Index or Search tabs in the help file left hand pane, the ToC context does not update to match the page in context.

In other words, when I open a page and the content appears in the main window, the Contents tab on the left panel does not open the folder that the page is located in and highlight the page. This has worked every time up until now.

Any ideas?

Thank you so much!

Try creating a new project with a few topics. Same problem?

Thank you Peter! I did check out your site and it was very helpful.

The Auto-synchronize TOC option is selected (and was prior).

In the Preset > Layout settings have you selected a Window and does the window have this check box applied? Whilst this is RoboHelp 2022, I think 2020 is the same.

What patch level of RH2020 are you on? I can't recall if there were 8 or 14 patch editions of that release. It's now a release behind RH2022 patch 5; any reason why you're not using the latest version?

Thank you for the response. I updated RH2020, re-saved the map file and had it re-deployed; unfortunately, it doesn't seem to have made a difference.

I'm not responsible for the products we use, so I'm unable to answer why we aren't using RH2022 yet. I have made the CTO aware of the more recent release.

Thanks again for your help 🙂
