Template Error: can not resolve macro: RegisterResolvers

Hello everyone,

I'm back to using RoboHelp for Word after three+ years -- and feel somewhat rusty. I have been trying to import a Word document into my project (and occasionally succeed, if the file is small enough) and then attach a custom template that is based on RoboHelp.dot. Is it possible that the custom template I used for my project is corrupt and is causing the following problem in all other projects that I create from scratch afterward? Note that it is possible to resolve this problem by re-installing the RoboHelp application software...

Initializing compiler...
Generating WebHelp 5.50 (13.10.606)...

Template Active Script Error: (null) [Line: 13] (null)
Template Error: can not resolve macro: RegisterResolvers

Fatal Error: Cannot run macro: RegisterResolvers in compilation script.
Template Error: can not resolve macro: WH_HOME_HTM
Template Error: can not resolve macro: WH_CSH_HTM
Template Error: can not resolve macro: WH_CSH2_HTM

WebHelp (WebHelp) was built successfully:
C:\TEMP\garbage\test\!SSL!\WebHelp\test.htm

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your prompt response. It's nice to meet the resident expert ! :-)

I have the full version of RoboHelp Office X (Pro) for .NET, and it was installed with Admin rights. The application, project files, and output all reside locally (on the same hard disk, but on different drives). I need to produce WebHelp output as a stand-alone Help system (for the time being...).

Yes, re-installing the application would fix the problem, but only until I would attach my custom template again. I believe your'e right -- my template was the culprit. So I redefined the styles in RoboHelp.dot instead, and am no longer seeing the Template Error message at compile time. I also took your advice and set the macro security in Word to Medium. Thanks. I also needed to increase the amount of run-time memory available to Word (in order to import larger files).

Thanks,
Rachel.

Welcome to the forum

Are you saying that reinstalling only fixes things for a while? Otherwise I am confused as if fixed by a reinstall, why post?

The way to test things is to do so with the supplied templates and see if they run you into trouble. If they don't, that points the finger at your template.

Also what level of security do you have applied in Word? If it is high, you need to change that to Medium of low.

Was RH installed using your logon with Admin rights attached? Essential.

You are using the full version and not a trial version and your project and the output folder are both on your hard disk?
