Testing external topic links

I have many, many external topic links in my project. Is there any way to automate the testing of these links? Seems like there must be a less primitive method of testing than just clicking the links in the output file.

The easiest way that I know of is to generate a WebHelp project out of it, and run Xenu on it. It's free, and works really well. You should have no trouble finding the corresponding errant links in your Winhelp file.
