TOC has red X over 99% of my topics

I have been working on my manual since 2008 but now when I pull up the TOC most of my topics have a red X over them (attached); when I publish you can still see the topics but i cannot add anything new and the search feature is not working?  What happened?? How can I fix this?

    Sorry but I don't open Word docs from any website. Please use the camera icon to insert an image.

    What version and edition of RH? Please see the sticky topic Before you Post.

    Is the problem only with the published help? Does the generated help work?

    What sort of help are we talking about?
