Question

Topics titles and topics ID

Hi

We use Robohelp X5 for Word and we have quite a few problems :

1) Some topics and mid-topics titles have changes in the references. They contain the phrase " .... PersonNameProductID...". We don't know why.
The word document is OK.
If the topic ID does not contain this phrase, we can change or delete the text of the topic title. That's no problem.
If the topic ID does contain this phrase, we can't do anything. More than that, Robohelp does not work anymore and we have to reboot.

2) Sometimes, the generation does not work : either it never stops ... or it fails with no explanation.
Sometimes, the generation works.
There are no changes in the document between the time it does not work and the time it works.

Does anyone have some ideas ?

Thank's
PS : sorry for my english, that's not my language

Please check the Save tab of the Options screen in Word.

Are both the Smart Tags options cleared?

We can't check it now, but we checked on another PC and it appears that the Save tab of the Options screen is not cleared on that PC.
We will check as soon as possible and I will tell you what happen.
Thank you.

I am not sure what to suggest, apart from not using RH for Word!

Are you saying that with Smart Tags turned off, you still cannot amend a topic id so that the phrase does not reappear?

Yes, that's what I'm saying

For some topics, it is only the title, but for others, it is both of them, the title and the ID ....

As I understood from those afflicted, it was the topic title that got affected.

Hi Peter,

Thank's for your answer. We went to your site and saw the snippet N° 52.
It seems to be OK when the topic ID is right.
But, if the topic ID is wrong also, it does not work : it never ends when we want to change ...
We have Word 2003.
