unable to view created topics from the project file pod

Has anyone experienced "losing" files from the Project Files view? I created and saved new topics and then they dissapeared. I can see the files from the explore view, but I am unable to view or edit the file. They do not displays in the Project Files navigation tree. 

Any help would be appreciated. I am concerned that the project may have corruption as it is very large and has been converted may times for different versions of RH.
