Updating an Old Help Project

Greetings!

I have an old RH project in the form of a *.xpj file. I tried opening it in RH 2022.5.28, but RH keeps generating an error.

I think there is a way to backward save my *.chm file. Is that correct?

Thanks!

Cindy

I'm not sure what exactly happened, but I have been able to open the old project file and update it.

    Here's what I did:

    1. Updated RoboHelp. I had not updated recently.

    2. Downloaded a different set of project files from an archive we have here.

I was then able to open the old .xpj file and create a new project.

Can you share the project? If you can, then see the Contact page on my site and send the project as instructed there. Do make sure you include a link to this thread and please do not email the project direct.

    I'll take a look tomorrow.

I'm sorry, Peter, I cannot share the project. This is, unfortunately, the situation with most of my projects.

I'll create a new project and see if I can import the topics instead.

    Thank you for your offer!

Try it but doubt it will upgrade the topics.

To upgrade to 2022 go to File > Upgrade. It creates a new project leaving the old one untouched.

    Hi, Peter:

It's not working for me, and I'm not sure why:

Is there a log I can check?

    Cindy

I don't think so but not sure. I suggest for this one you need to go to Adobe Support. See https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/enterprise-support.other.html#robohelp for your Adobe Support options. The email link tcssup@adobe.com is recommended as it reaches a team dedicated to Technical Communication Suite products including RoboHelp.
