Question

Vertical scroll bar "scroll thumb" is missing

Running RoboHelp 10.0.1.292. Creating a Desktop layout.

Using the Screen Layout Editor, I set the "Overflow" attribute to "Scroll" for the Topic content and the Tabbed content. When I generate and review in either Chrome or IE10, the horizontal bar is working. The vertical bar, which is visible, does not have a "scroll thumb" in the track.

Thanks - Dan

    It may be that there is some CSS styling the scroll bar that causes the issue. Look for ::-webkit-scrollbar in the CSS.

    Also, most browsers nowaday only show the scroll bar and hide the thumb by default so that may be the issue as well. Can you perhaps share a screen shot of the issue?

    Hi Willam,

    Chrome displays the following error:

    C:/.../!SSL!/Multiscreen_HTML5/desktop/template/Desktop_Layout/-webkit-gradient      Failed to load resource: net::ERR_FILE_NOT_FOUND

    The CSS does not have a webkit-scrollbar.

    Some element has an overflow: scroll; set instead of an overflow: auto;

    Search your css for the text 'scroll' and change it to 'auto' where applicable. That should get rid of the scroll bar when it's not needed.
