Vista help files

I have an old version of Robohelp (Blue Sky Inc.) that I have used for years to create hypertext notes for Physician's surgical Certification exam study program. I know that the new Adobe 6.0 version will not run in Vista. However, can it create help files that will run in Vista? I get a message when I try to run my current help files (Winhelp) in Vista that states the Winhelp engine is no longer supported for Vista. If I upgrade and install the new 6.0 Robohelp (Adobe version) on my WinXP machine, will I be able to compile my older robohelp projects into a help file that will work in Windows Vista?
Thanks in advance,
Tony

    Hi Dr D.

WinHelp files do still work in Vista. If you have a 16 bit help file, it should work without issue. 32 bit help files will require an initial download of the WinHelp viewer from Microsoft.

If your RoboHelp version is capable of creating HTML Help (compiled .CHM) files, these should work in Vista with no issue.

    Cheers... Rick

    Hello Rick,
Thanks for the reply. Mine are 32 and they give me the message about Windows no longer supports Winhelp32. I found a Winhelp32 Vista version from Microsoft at this link http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&familyid=6ebcfad9-d3f5-4365-8070-334cd175d4bb Is this what you are talking about?

Also, I read this from Microsoft about 3rd parties cannot install Winhelp32 on their users computers??? Read this artical
