Web help and Chrome

Hi Everyone,

We're currently using RH10 and using Web Help as our current output.

Currently Chrome doesn't display web help but flickers instead. This occurs both locally and over network.

Chrome is Version 35.0.1916.153 m.

Two questions..

1. Has anyone got a workaround for RH10 and this version of chrome so it can display web help please?

2. Does RH11 solve this, i.e does the web help generated from RH11 still behave in this way?

On our systems we can display web help in Firefox 29.0.1 and earlier versions of IE but not IE11.

Regards

Steve

Bit of an update,

Installed update as recommended in http://helpx.adobe.com/robohelp/kb/webhelp-output-fails-load-chrome.html.

Now works in Chrome from local and network..

I also just noticed this problem with webhelp failing to load in Chrome when it's not on a web server.

I downloaded the updated whprox.js file from Adobe (in the link above).

While it fixed the problem of the webhelp completely failing to load in Chrome, it has broken my lovingly-crafted navigation pane mini toolbar. My mini toolbar, with 2 image buttons for  Contents and Search, now also has rogue Index (no image) and Search Input elements on, which I don't want.

So the options for my (local) webhelp seem to be Broken, or Really Broken. Sigh,

techauthorjulie Which version of RoboHelp are you using? The fix referenced is for RoboHelp 10. You can find on overview of all available fixes/patches for RH on http://www.wvanweelden.eu/articles/robohelp-patches-and-updates

If you are using RH9, there is no way to fix local WebHelp for Chrome. For that, you will need to upgrade to RH10 or later.

Kind regards,
