Question

What does this warning Message mean?

Currently my company has two licenses for RoboHelp8 both are installed locally on PC's.   We are attempting to install and use SourceControl so two people can work on the same project at the same time.   Our IT guy downloaded a trial copy of RH8  without a serial number to play with to make sure the Source Control is working properly.  He tried to open a project that was completed using  RH8 and got this message.  All instances are updated.

Can anyone help me with this and suggest a method that will allow him to test the Source Control given our scenario above?

Thank you in advance for your help.

This is version that he downloaded as a trial.

The version we have is 8.0.2.208. Can he get an update for that or should he do as you suggested and just download RH11.

Updates can be obtained from Adobe - Support : RoboHelp Support Center : Service Releases

Provided the project you are trying to open has not been opened in Rh11, then after applying the patches it should open in 8. It is important the Rh8 patches are applied before opening any projects as one of them fixed a particularly nasty bug.

Normally that message would indicate that perhaps you have version 10 of the product and are trying to open version 11.

Or, perhaps you have multiple folks using version 11 and one person updated version 11 with a service release and worked on the project. In that case, others would need to update with the same service release.

Your IT was probably unable to download RH8 as it is not available. As Rick suggests, I bet they downloaded the latest version RH11.
