Collaboration Issue

User 1 is trying to use the Team Projects function with Adobe files to allow for easier collaboration but when files are shared, external assets aren’t embedded (video footage, music, images, etc.). They are by default saved locally. User 1 tried to solve this problem today by uploading the assets to his Adobe account cloud storage (100 available gb) and invited User 2 to the file, but when she tried to import the assets Adobe Premiere told him “ingesting is disabled”, User 1 also noticed that his Adobe CC account says “file syncing is disabled, contact your IT administrator”.

There are some idiosyncratic parts to the TP workflow. The main one is media management, and it MUST be handled in one way and that way only.

 

The "owner" adds media to the project, all others reference the media locally via the Team Projects Media Management dialog. All media needs to be seen by Premiere on 'local' storage for each user. And should be in the same folder-tree/file structure as on the owner's machine.

 

That special dialog that all users other than the owner use for referencing files in local storage is in the Edit/Team Projects menu. Edit/Team Project/Media Management.

 

There are some online storage possibilities but you must have local storage of the linked files for Premiere to keep up to speed ... unless you have absolutely insane up and download from your ISP. Adobe is currently working with LucidLink for such things, and I and a partner in South Africa are testing out a LucidLink workflow.

 

It seems promising at this point.

      Hi, 

      If you share the media via CC Files all collborators need to accept the invite for the CC Files and the invite to the Team Project.  Each collaborator needs to have local access to the media you want to ingest into a Premiere Team Project. I have not yet come across the “ingesting is disabled” issue, do you mind sharing a quick video capture or screenshot that shows the behavior you're seeing?
