I need to clean this up, but need my projects to stay whole. What the solution? A post from three years ago says it's not possible but c'mon, its over 30% of local drive currently and i cant afford the space! I need to clean this cache pleeeeasssseeee.

"/Users/Tyson/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Team Projects Local Hub" Folder is taking up 300gb of my 1tb SSD... Can I clean this up???

As Neil already mentioned archiving a Team Project will remove the locahub data for this particular project. You can also just delete the entire 'Team Projects Local Hub' folder with the caveat that you loose access to your auto-save history and potential longer load time when re-opening a Team Project as the local database needs to be re-written to the 'Team Projects Local Hub' folder.

I tested archiving with one of the projects, but it didnt seem to decrease the size of the folder (even after several days). If i have local copies of all projects, am I safe to just delete them?

Yes, but as already mentioned you'll loose access to your local Auto-Save history, your Version history will still be accessible.

So you don't "archive" projects when done, but keep them all loaded? Just checking. Knowing more about your workflow would help.

I tried archiving one project as a test, but this folder has since stayed the same size. Also, for two of the perhaps larger projects, the archive button is greyed out and not selectable. is there a workaround?

The 'Archive' button is greyed out when you are not the owner of the project or you have the project currently open.
