Team Project Relink failed

I am new to Team Projects and already found some very old disussions about media relinking. I was hoping something has changed in the meantime.

We are working locally on two macs - and would like to be able to work together in realtime.

This is why I converted a local project to a team project, then I copied all the files in finder to a second SSD using the exact same folder structure.

I connected the second drive to the second mac, opened up the team project and was prompted that everything is offline. I was directed to the relink window and selected a file, now I got a spinning wheel as my pointer and can wait for ages.. everytime..

In the meantime I found out that I should use Team Project -> Media Management instead.

But even there no chance. I selected the new drive, but it doesnt relink.

Maybe because I already tried relinking the "old fashioned way" several times and it crashed every time?

But can it be that the relinking workflow I am offered when opening a project destroys my whole project?

Is there any way to make it work again?

I just new to the workflow and I am a little worried if team projects will survive the exit of a documentary..

Now I tried to copy my media files from one SSD to the other - both connected locally - using the team projecty->media management. Now I am getting "An error occured when transferrring "file name" to the cloud file system. But I am not using a cloud file system. Whats going on? Is this really a reliable workflow??

I think it copied all files using Teams Project->Media Management->Copy to Shared Storage to my second SSD. I connected this one to the second mac - opened up the team project and... offline. No way to relink. It still works on my first mac but I am afraid that if I accidentally would hit "publish" on the second mac, everything will be offline as well.

A nightmare that never ends: I tried to create a local project to continue working. Now on startup premiere asks me EVERY TIME to relink my proxies. As I selected "copy to shared storage" before in the team project, premiere seems to think, the proxies now are located on the second drive. Even the local project is not able to relink permanently.
