Teams project custom metadata fields not saving

I am on a Teams project for the first time. I am logging the clips, and we have two custom metadata fields. I create the fields using the Metadata Display Menu, save it as a preset, then save it as a New View Preset in the bin, and finally save the workspace.

When I reopen the project, the custom fields have dissappeared. If I recreate them the data is still there, but it's a major annoyance and I don't want to have my teammates need to recreate them every time we open the project.
