Timeline Not Syncing for CC/ Premiere Pro Team Project

Hi Alex,

'Team Projects' does not sync any footage, only the project meta data is synced and shared. If new media is added to the Team Project, this media needs to be made accessible to other collaborator.s You can use any file syncing service like CC Files, google drive, onedrive, etc.... or external drives.

Lets say you import media from this folder "C:\Alex\Footage_xyz" and you shared your changes in the Team Project and you shared the new footage with your collaborator.
The other user saved the folder containing the footage to an external drive "D:\User_2\Media\Footage_xyz"

Now, when a collaborator gets the latest Team Project changes, the media may appear offline because the original file path is still pointing to "C:\Alex\Footage_xyz".
In this case the collaborator needs to tell Premiere that the media on the collaborators machine is actually under "D:\User_2\Media\Footage_xyz".
This is done by creating a machine specific media mapping.
1. Edit > Team Project > Media Mapping...
2. Select "C:\Alex\Footage_xyz" under 'Offline: Missing Media Mapping'
3. Click the 'New Media Mapping...' button and point the file Browser to "D:\User_2\Media\Footage_xyz"

At this point the new media should come online.

I'd also suggest to upgrade to a newer version of PPRO, we implemented quite a few enhancements since 2019.

That's not the way I understand we can import media.

The original 'owner' can import via typical media import processes. Other users than use the Edit/Team Projects/Media Managment dialog to navigate to the media (typically on their local storage) and link to the media.

I may be wrong, but ... don't think I am. Hopefully we'll get a definitive answer. One of the questions that seems to occur occasionally is how do non-"owners" add media to the total project without breaking everyone's media management.
