acrobat DC crashing in windows

Acrobat crashes constantly.  Generally related to replacing pages or combining files.  I have tried updating, repairing and uninstalling.  Nothing works.  I am just about done with Adobe.  I pretty much always have to keep a backup pdf program on my machine because Acrobat is so unreliable (print driver also locks up frequently.) I have a fast machine with lots of memory (Windows 10 Pro, Intel Core I9-9900, 32gb RAM).

Everything else on my machine works fine - just Acrobat that can't function.

Anybody have any useful advise?

We are sorry for the trouble. As described the application is crashing on replacing or combining pages.

 

Is this a behavior with a particular set of documents or with any documents that you try to combine or replace pages? Please try with a different file and check.

 

What is the version of the Adobe Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Adobe Acrobat and make sure you have the latest version 20.12.20043 installed. Go to Help > Check for Updates.

 

If the documents are stored on a shared network/drive please try to download them to your computer locally and then try to combine them with Acrobat DC and check.

 

You may also try to repair the installation from the help menu > repair installation and check if that helps.

 

If it still doesn't work, please try to reset the preferences to default as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792082?page=1

 

For testing purposes: Please try to turn off the protected mode and see if that makes any difference. Go to Edit > Preferences > Enhanced Security > Uncheck 'Enable protected mode at startup', turn off the protected mode and uncheck enhanced security > Click OK and reboot the application.
Note: Turning off the protected mode may possess security risk, please turn on the security after testing.

 

If it still doesn't work, please try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Windows and try using the application there and check.

It happens with various different files.

I am using the latest version.

The files are stored locally.

I have tried repair.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled.

I deleted preferences. 

Protected  mode is off.

I am the only user on the computer and I already have admin rights.

Nothing works. 

 

FYI - I downloaded Nitro and tried the same operations with the same file, worked great.

For testing purposes, please try to create a new test user profile with full admin rights in Windows and try using the application there and check.

 

If it still doesn't work, please collect the crash logs as described in the help page https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/collect-logs-crash-freeze.html and upload the logs to the Document Cloud https://documentcloud.adobe.com/link/home/ , generate the link and share it with usfor testing.
