Hi, My Acrobat is freezing and crashing seriously despite that I have downloaded the recent upgrade version: 19.010.20064.

My system is Windows 10 Pro 1809 (17763.194) and I have a brand new HP ZBook 17 G5 with 32 Gb RAM.

Hello everybody

I started this thread originally and I have no problems anymore.

Beneath all the steps I took to fix the freezing issue:

I uninstalled Acrobat 2019 and installed Acrobat 2017:

• Enable the Safe mode with networking and check the application behavior

• Enable the installer services through the command

• Open CMD using Admin privileges and type the command -  REG ADD "HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SafeBoot\Network\MSIServer" /VE /T REG_SZ /F /D "Service"

• Hit enter and type another command as - net start msiserver

• Install the previous built of the application and check the behavior: Download Acrobat 2017

I also made the registry edits mentioned here:
Acrobat Pro DC "Not responding" while reading a PDF file

I also installed this hotfix:

Release notes | Acrobat DC, Acrobat Reader DC, Acrobat DC Classic 2015, Acrobat Reader DC Classic 2015, Acrobat 2017 and…

Now Acrobat is working fine

Acrobat Pro DC "Not responding" while reading a PDF file

Try the registry edits in the post linked above.  Worked perfectly and no more freezes!

Thank you for the suggestion. Doing registry edits can cause serious issues with your pc if you do them wrong. I will not be editing my registry, and I would suggest that anyone who attempts to use this fix create a system restore point prior to editing. (I can't believe it has gotten to this point).

Understood and acknowledged.  However, the registry edits in this fix are not affecting any major components or keys, nor does it delete anything.  It is simply adding keys to a newly created folder.  As the author of the fix stated in his very detailed and explanatory post, "These registry changes will stop Acrobat from going out to "the Cloud".  This keeps it from hanging while it tries to get through the corporate firewall."

The fix simply stops the problem plugins from running.

I am also having this problem.  It seems ridiculous that there is no fix for this yet.  We pay for this product and it's very frustrating to try to use it.  We have Windows 10 Pro and have tried the fixes to no avail.

Looks like Adobe might become the best salesperson for Foxit Software.  Looking at dropping our 20+ Acrobat DC Pro licenses and moving to Foxit.  I'm sure we are just to small for Adobe to care about so guess it is onto other solutions.

Please let us know how it works! I cannot work with adobe as it is right now. If Foxit allows the insertion of pages and direct editing of a PDF, I will switch today!

Hello,

I am having the exact same issue. It seemed to start with the most recent windows update and it does not appear that Adobe is doing anything at all (please correct me if I am wrong). I have uninstalled and reinstalled, used the cleaner and repair tools and have switched to compatibility mode with Windows 8 and nothing is helping! My adobe will freeze and not allow me to scroll through a documents, if I try to do anything complicated at all it crashes and closes. Any information for fixing this or getting my complaint to someone at adobe that can actually fix this would be appreciated.

I'm on windows 10 Home

Intel(r) Core i5-4460 CPU @ 3.20 Ghz

Try updating the driver of your graphics card - that seemed to work for me

We have a brand new computer and I updated the all drivers and we get a BSD within about 15 seconds of opening Acrobat Pro.  Uninstall it and computer works great with everything else.  Install Acrobat Pro and all is good until I open it.  Then BSD.  Currently look at other alternatives to Acrobat Pro as this proving to be a waste of time with Adobe doing nothing to fix.

Since the last major update, Acrobat Pro crashed every other time when trying to make a PDF. Normally these things are fixed by Adobe in days, but this has gone on for months now.

Windows 10 Dell XPS 8950.  I have had the same problem for a while and I repair it sometimes more than once in a session.  I am assuming that a patch will come soon

Windows 10

Dell Latitude

Issue: Can open PDF, then application goes into Not Responding for 3 to 5 minutes.  Recovers then when clicking on any tool such edit, the app locks up and says Not Responding for 7 - 10 Minutes. Unusable at this time.

FYI:  A person in my workgroup had this issue on Windows 10 and using the Acrobat Clean Uninstaller Tool from Adobe to uninstall all version of Reader/Acrobat, then rebooting, then reinstalling seems to have helped.

We were having an issue with windows crashing and thought it was the computer.  Purchased a new computer and everything was working great UNTIL we installed Acrobat Pro.  Windows 10 fully updated Lenovo X1.  So frustrating to find it is a software issue and Adobe is doing nothing to fix it after months of people saying they have a problem.
