I've been pulling my hair out for about 2 hours trying to edit a pdf.  It was a 12 mb file and i reduced the size...and it was comical becuase it went from 12.8 to 12.7??  BUT it seems to be working smoother now.  It's not winning any speed races but my nerves are less shot.

Hi,

I'm having the same issue. It's nerve wrecking... I use a top of the line 14inch 2022 mac book pro, and all are up to date, but going into Edit mode makes the files lag (what ever the size and the amount of pages). Clicking a field to change a number for example takes 30 secs, when it's working. Sometimes the fields available to Edit, because it's only the ones from the page currently in view, jump to the next page. Without any reason. Editing PDFs is the one reason to use Adobe Pro and it's just sloppy, completely unprofessional...

I'm having the same issue, I have a new macbook pro M2 64gb. I have to wait 20-30 seconds for each amendment, if i type a line of text, it takes me 2 minutes to see it on the pdf. What if I throw 128 gb at it? or 256? I really need to be able to work on PDF's.

Hi there

Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check. If the file is stored on a shared network/drive please download it to your computer locally and then try again.

What is the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 23.06.20380  installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

Also try to repair the installation from the help menu (Win Only) and see if that works.

Please try to reset the Acrobat preferences as described here https://community.adobe.com/t5/acrobat-discussions/how-to-reset-acrobat-preference-settings-to-default/td-p/4792082

I really don't understand! You've been having millions of messages over years complaining about this same issue! and you're still giving the same answers like a robot like "do you have your adobe up to date?" "reboot your computer" bla bla bla bla! Are you kidding us? We pay your service and this type of atitude is so bad!!! Its clear for everyone that you have an issue and you're not fixing it! It's a lack of respect for your customers! Wake up!

Hi @Lori28288310f8ic

Hope you are doing well and sorry to hear that

Is this an issue with a particular PDF file or with all the PDFs? Please try with a different PDF file and check. If the file is stored on a shared network/drive please download it to your computer locally and then try again. If the PF file is very large consisting of images and pictures, such a lag id expected.

What is the version of the Acrobat DC you are using? To check the version go to Help > About Acrobat and make sure you have the recent version 22.3.20314 installed. Go to Help > Check for updates and reboot the computer once.

You may also go to Edit (Win), Adobe Acrobat (Mac) > Preferences > Reading > Page V/S Document, Select 'Only Read currently visible pages' > click OK

also go to Edit (Win), Adobe Acrobat (Mac) > Preferences > Page Display > Rendering, Uncheck 'use page cache' > click OK and reboot the computer once.

Regards

Amal
